Paul Wright

Paul Wright is renowned for painting portraits. Even his interior scenes and still life works have the feeling of portraiture, as he attempts to capture the ‘life’ of an object. Every brushstroke is not only visible, but so prominent as almost to overshadow the subject matter. Paint, for Wright, is highly physical – figures and objects can be seen as if through a mesh of colourful strokes. Faces are rendered in an almost cubist fashion, while grey-scale or flashes of brilliant colour are implemented to accentuate age and features.

Ryan Metke

Ryan Metke (b. 1980, lives and works in Brooklyn, NY) is a contemporary artist based in New York City. Although his work is centred on the classical platforms, like painting and sculpture, they often defy classical conjecture, extending into the gamut of performance and installation art. Metke’s work invites viewers to participate and acknowledges them as an integral part of the creative experience.
The images within Metke’s paintings and installations are a topographical collage of human senses and symbols. Metke’s cartographic compositions always tell a story, encouraging the viewers to take part in the narrative. Deciphering the content of his work may take you on a trek across the globe, whose end could be the discovery of an encapsulated trove deposited by Metke.
Ryan received his formal training in painting and sculpture from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Jimmy Nelson

Jimmy Nelson was born in Sevenoaks, Kent in 1967. He is currently based in Amsterdam, while his work takes him all over the globe.
'In 2010, I planned to become a guest of 35 secluded and visually unique tribes. I wanted to witness their time-honoured traditions, join in their rituals and discover how the rest of the world is threatening to change their way of life forever. Most importantly, I wanted to create an ambitious aesthetic photographic document that would stand the test of time. A body of work that would be an irreplaceable ethnographic record of a fast disappearing world.'
Nelson spent five years traveling across Europe, Asia, Africa and the South Pacific visiting 35 indigenous tribes between 2010 and 2015. The resulting images beautifully capture the relationships between his subjects and their surroundings, rituals and traditions.
Nelson's work seeks to provoke a discussion and dialog around the longevity of these rural communities, with many facing the effects of climate change, global industrial expansion and conflicts.
Before They Pass Away is presented by museums and galleries worldwide, such as Fotografiska in Stockholm, Camerawork in Berlin, and Sotheby's in London. Works from the series are being collected by corporate and private collections. In Norway, leading collections such as The Statoil Art Collection and Nordic Choice Art and Design have acquired works from Before They Pass Away.

Piers Bourke

Piers Bourke’s Art work is a combination of using progressive print and painting techniques, but with a traditional and time staking approach to assembly and detail.
The work has large elements of collage which creates a very sculptural and textured look and feel to the work. The pieces are eagerly collected by a global audience from all corners of the world.
Currently based in Singapore, Piers is a regular contributor to curators from all sectors who love the contemporary nature of his dynamic style and approach. His work is eye-catching and thoughtful. Each piece has a story based on his experiences and his passion for mixing traditional features with an eclectic love of design.
Utilising instantly identifiable icons such as postage stamps and telephone boxes, to name but a few, the only true constant in his work is change; Piers turns the traditional and ordinary into the extraordinary through his work that has become renowned and instantly identifiable as his own, a constant DNA that collators have come to love and value

Rado Kirov

Rado Kirov was born in Bulgaria in 1955. He developed an interest in metal art at an early age when he was first exposed to the wonder of the Panagyursko Treasure, an exquisitely hand crafted collection of golden artefacts dating back to the 3rd century BC.
Rado began an extensive apprenticeship in copper smithing at the age of 25 in the town of Dobrich Bulgaria under the tutelage of Alexander Raev, one of the greatest craftsmen in Bulgaria at the time. He honed his artistic skills with copper over the next 10 years until immigrating with his family to South Africa in 1991. Rado continues to be a member of the Bulgarian Association of Craftsmen – Section: Copper Smithing.
Over the last 20 years, Rado gradually shifted his creative focus to product design and functional art working extensively with interior designers and architects.
Searching for a new creative outlet and complete freedom of expression, Rado embarked on a new artistic venture at the beginning of 2012 drawing on his extensive knowledge of silver smithing and years of experience in working with various different metals. Rado developed a unique technique of manipulating a sheet of stainless steel by hand, using the inherent physical properties of the metal to create a striking three-dimensional surface that dynamically mirrors its surroundings and draws the observer into the magic of its reflection. Rado’s new-found passion for sculpture and his mastery of stainless steel are expressed in this new medium, which he has called the Mercury Effect.
